Hope for the Hurting Home is seeking to change the culture of divorce in two ways. First, our founder, Dr. Kenworthy and several of our associates participated in a “Think Tank” with Dr. Bill Doherty from the University of Minnesota from January of 2011 until November of 2012. The purpose of this think tank was to develop high-impact practices for the faith-based community. As a result of this collaboration and our own research, we have produced a manual and video material that can be used to educate leaders in the faith-based community in a more effective approach to saving marriages on the brink of divorce.
Secondly, Hope For The Hurting Home provides Friend’s First Responder training to the faith-based community. This training assumes that friends and family are the first to know about hurting marriages and equips them with the tools to talk with their loved ones and move them in the direction of the help that they need. Our products for both lay people and leaders are currently in the research and development stage. We plan to continue to perfect our products and techniques based on our on-going research.
